Project Manager

About This Role

As our Project Manager, you'll estimate costs, compile schedules, and implement project oversight to ensure successful construction outcomes. You'll manage change effectively while maintaining our commitment to delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

  • Manage client enquiries and assist with project lead shortlisting
  • Oversee the request for quote process with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Monitor project expenditure against budgets and timeframes, taking corrective action as needed
  • Ensure all permits and approvals are in place before project commencement

Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise with clients and government agencies on project approvals and implementation
  • Represent Forrest Building Co professionally at meetings and industry events
  • Recruit and induct site staff as required
  • Address staff performance issues proactively

Daily Operations

  • Review project needs and maintain daily logs
  • Coordinate with Leading Hands on project requirements
  • Manage building permit processes and engineer inspections
  • Convert leads to live projects and award quotes

Regular Reporting

  • Conduct weekly toolbox meetings and Leading Hand meetings
  • Update project pipeline and schedules
  • Prepare monthly project reports for clients
  • Participate in individual and project performance reviews

Essential Requirements

  • Industry Expertise: Extensive understanding of and/or experience in the building and construction industry
  • Project Management: Developed experience in project and contract management with proven ability to deliver projects on time and budget
  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding of estimating and scheduling software
  • Communication: Well-developed written and oral communication skills
  • Leadership: Ability to prioritise and control team workloads
  • Client Service: Demonstrated commitment to excellent client service
  • Safety Compliance: Construction OH&S Card (White Card) and solid understanding of occupational health and safety systems
  • Business Development: Demonstrated ability to source new work and prepare tender information
  • Independence: Ability to work independently while following instructions
  • Continuous Improvement: Commitment to innovation and ongoing development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal project management training at Certificate IV/Diploma level
