Carpenter - Leading Hand

We're seeking a skilled and motivated Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tradesperson who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship whilst working on diverse construction, maintenance, and renovation projects across various structures and buildings. Reporting to our Carpenter-Leading Hand, you'll be part of a collaborative team environment where your expertise will contribute to delivering exceptional results for our valued clients.

What You'll Be Doing

Core Responsibilities:

  • Construction Excellence: Undertake construction, maintenance, alterations, repair and renovation works according to specifications and company standards
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all work meets relevant health and safety, quality and environmental standards
  • Client Service: Provide consistently high standard customer service and maintain positive client relationships
  • Equipment Management: Operate plant and equipment safely with appropriate daily maintenance
  • Documentation: Complete comprehensive records and utilise BuilderTrend system for project tracking
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in daily prestart meetings and weekly toolbox meetings

Day-to-Day Activities:

  • Morning tool and safety equipment preparation
  • Execution of all carpentry related tasks
  • Site cleanliness and safety management
  • Material planning assistance and equipment management
  • Regular communication with leading hand for task coordination
  • Contributing to a great team culture

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualifications & Experience: Relevant carpentry qualifications and demonstrated experience
  • Licences & Certifications:
    • Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
    • Current NT driver's licence
    • Own reliable transport
    • Cert III in Carpentry or similar trade.
  • Technical Skills: Proven ability to work safely and effectively whilst unsupervised
  • Communication: Well-developed client interaction and written communication abilities
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in team environments whilst maintaining enthusiasm under pressure
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Compliance: Knowledge of Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality regulations
  • Reliability: Punctual and reliable work approach

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in remote locations
