Carpenter - Leading Hand

About the Role:

As our Apprentice Carpenter, you'll work under the guidance of our Carpenter-Leading Hand, acquiring essential carpentry skills through practical application and formal studies. You'll contribute to quality construction, installation, maintenance, and repair projects while completing your Certificate trade qualifications.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting with construction, maintenance, alterations, and renovation works
  • Operating tools and equipment safely and professionally
  • Completing apprenticeship training and attending block trade school
  • Maintaining high standards of customer service
  • Contributing to site safety and cleanliness
  • Contributing to a great team culture

What You'll Need:

Essential Requirements:

  • Safety First: Ability to obtain Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
  • Tool Skills: Safe operation of hand tools and power tools
  • Learning Attitude: Strong desire to develop carpentry skills and complete trade qualifications
  • Communication: Well-developed reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Customer Focus: Positive, courteous interaction with clients
  • Team Player: Effective teamwork with a positive attitude
  • Reliability: Punctuality and dependability
  • Transport: Current NT driver's licence and suitable transport (can be negotiated)
  • Commitment: Willingness to work in challenging conditions and remote areas

Preferred:

  • Experience or willingness to work in remote locations
  • Eagerness to learn new skills and undertake additional training
